Field and Stream recently posted a first-ever, hands-on review of a 3D printed fly reel. The reel, designed and created by Michael Hackney, is printed with a biodegradable plastic made from cornstarch and is boasts a design similar to an old click-pawl reel. It took Michael over two years to develop and perfect the design for manufacture and is now available on his website:
