FWP Updates Info On Big Hole River Brown Trout Fungus
Last week, the FWP released an update to last October’s Saprolignia fungus outbreak affecting brown trout in the Big Hole River. Their findings indicate that the high number of affected trout was a reflection of a record abundance of the trout themselves. The number of brown trout in the Big Hole last year was found to be 1870 per mile, while the long-term average is 960 per mile.
